Supporting the Evelina London Children’s Hospital

KTB are proud to support the Evelina London Children’s Hospital, part of Guys and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation trust. The Evelina London is a charity is close to our hearts at KTB due to the amazing work that the hospital provides for all children including the son of the directors of the company. Young Benjamin Ballard was first retrieved to the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit at only one month old; since he has spent many weeks in the hospital for the specialist care they provide. In 2015 alone he underwent 3 operations, one lifesaving open heart surgery. Today he continues to rely on the dedicated services of this hospital team to remain well.

The directors of KTB as a heartfelt thank you for saving their son have made a personal pledge that through KTB they will continue to support the Evelina Children’s Hospital by raising money for specialist services within the hospital.

Since 2011, our first year of fundraising, we have successfully raised over £26000 for the Cardiac and Infectious diseases units at the Evelina.

The Evelina Children’s Hospital, part of the Guys and St Thomas’ NHS Trust, was designed by children for children. With services including 140 inpatient beds, 20 intensive care beds, 3 operating theatres, a hospital school and a kidney dialysis unit, the hospital is recognised as a leading centre of excellence in paediatric care. For its cardiac services the Evelina has an international reputation and in a report by Sir Ian Kennedy the Evelina was recognised as being amongst the very best in the country. In addition to cardiology and specialist cardiac surgery, the Evelina also provides general and specialist surgery, genetics, kidney services, neonatal and paediatric intensive care and paediatric neurology services. Like other London Children’s Hospitals it has a reliance on charitable support from the public to continue to provide only the best services for the children that rely on its care.
