KTBVibration Therapy - Implementing the Power Plate into Physiotherapy Rehabilitation

Introducing Vibration Therapy

Sir Isaac Newton's law of motion states:

The force of an object is equal to its mass multiplied by acceleration.

Typically we improve functional force (stability, strength or power) by applying more mass (such as in weight training). The alternative offered with vibration therapy simply adds more acceleration whilst keeping the mass the same.

The use of Vibration therapy was first used by Russian cosmonauts as a method of preventing the loss of muscle bulk and bone density following extended periods in space.

The approach has now become popular among sports professionals, and is being more commonly seen in the medical field as an effective form of rehabilitation to enhance muscle strengthening, balance and co-ordination skills.
