Atharva is a Specialist Physiotherapist and Sports Medicine Clinician, holding an MSc. Sports and Exercise Medicine from University of Birmingham.
He has worked as a part of the medical team at Charlton Athletic Football Club. Previously, he has also worked in India, as a Musculoskeletal and Sports physiotherapist for various Cricket Clubs and also at Private Clinics.
Atharva has helped a wide range of people return to full function post injury or an episode of pain, and understands the importance of practical and meaningful rehab. He has extensive training in orthopaedic medical assessment treatment and always looks to adopt the most effective evidence-based approach.
He is trained in Intermediate Trauma Medical Management in Football (ITMMiF) by the Football Association of England, and is certified in Sports Psychology, Sports Nutrition and Exercise Physiology by the International Olypmic Committee. His clinical expertise lies in Manual therapy, Dry needling, Exercise prescription and Injury prevention and also holds a Diploma in Football medicine issued by FIFA. Atharva has sports injury articles published within PHYSIOTIMES, a physiotherapy magazine in India.
Being a keen sportsman himself, he understands the desire athletes have for a speedy return to play. In his free-time you will find Atharva training at cricket nets, or at the nearest pub with friends watching a game of football.
