Jo qualified as a Pilates matwork instructor in 2016, after working for more than 30 years as a physiotherapist in areas including elderly care and community paediatrics.

She qualified with APPI (Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute) and is also trained to teach Reformer Pilates, as well as specialising in pre and post-natal Pilates.

He career as a physiotherapist, working mainly in rehabilitation, naturally led her to Pilates, with her being keen to add another skillset to combine with the methods & practices of physio.

She’s passionate about teaching clients to learn how to improve their body awareness, flexibility, posture and strength, using skills learnt across her varied career.

Outside of clinic, Jo has an active family life, with 5 adult children and 2 grandchildren to keep her busy!

She’s also a keen dressmaker and enjoys singing with her musician husband John in the community gospel choir.

Fitness-wise, she’s also an avid cross-country runner, veteran track & field and open water swimmer.
